INTRODUCTION 

'So Called Finance' is a group consisting of five members. All members in this group are students majoring in International Finance with program code HE19. We are third-year students from University Malaysia Sabah, Labuan International Campus 'So Called Finance' is a charity group that runs volunteer activities. We are currently doing a crowdfunding project for our International Corporate Finance subject, GA30203. This project is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) between So Called Financiers, UMSKAL students with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Impak Komuniti Sabah (PIKOS) to collaborate in providing a food bank to Grace Old Folks Home, Kota Kinabalu. We are delighted to initiate this meaningful project for the public and intend to help elderly people to provide for theirfinancial needs through the donations collected from the platform.

 PROJECT BACKGROUND 

Collaborator- PIKOS

PIKOS was known as (Sabah Community Impact Welfare Organization). It is an organization which was established on 1st July 2016 and registered with Registrar of Society (ROS) which is based in Sabah. PIKOS is a Non-Government Organization and a nonprofit organization. PIKOS tries to encourage volunteers and giving chances for citizen of Malaysia to involve in volunteering service in Sabah. PIKOS's role and responsibility is to provide training and chances in doing voluntarily work to all volunteers for the benefit of those who are needed. 

Community- Grace old folks home

Grace old folks home is a nursing home that provide shelter for old people live and to be cared. The centre of the located on Lot 326 kampung likas jalan saga , Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Currently , there are about 21 old folks stay in Grace Old Folks Home.

GOALS 

• Raising fund to reach the target fund to purchase all the necessities for Grace Old Folks Home. The estimated budget required is around RM 1760.00.

OBJECTIVES

• To foster the welfare and wellbeing of elderly destitute
• To create awareness within the community regarding the crowdfunding platform
• Able to co-operate with external organizations such as PIKOS to achieve the targeted budgeting

PEOPLE WE SERVE 

This campaign focuses on our senior citizen from Kota Kinabalu. Grace Old Folks Home is one of many non-profit  nursing home that provide shelter for older people to live and to be cared for. As our slogan, YOUR GOLDEN YEARS, OUR PRIORITY, reminds all of us that senior citizens are our priority and we cherish them especially in their late years. Our campaign will collaborate with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Impak Komuniti Sabah (PIKOS) to raise funds for Grace Old Folks Home, Kota Kinabalu. We will use social media such as Facebook and Instagram to reach out to potential supporters or donators. We will also provide regular updates and progress reports to our supporters.

Every opportunity comes with varies challenges and risk. Likewise, this crowdfunding campaign involves numerous risks and obstacles, such as the possibility of receiving fewer or more donations than anticipated within the allotted time frame. 

Insufficient Fund

If the campaign receives less than the targeted donation amount, the initiative's overall success could be affected, and it may not be possible to purchase the necessary supplies. This would lead to less product purchase thus would not achieve the goals and objectives for this project. We would have to reduce the number of items given to the Grace old folk's home .This could result in a delay, causing the campaign's planning and execution resources to be wasted.

Excessive Fund 

In contrast, exceeding the donation goal within the allotted time frame could result in new obstacles. The inability to effectively manage the surplus funds could lead to misallocation of resources.

Donor Attention Issue

Another difficulty associated with crowdfunding campaigns is competition for donor focus. Given the number of campaigns competing for donor funds, it may be difficult to separate out and attract the interest of potential donors. Developing an effective marketing and communication strategy is essential for maximising the campaign's reach and impact
